At least 11 workers are missing about 52 miles off the coast of Venice, LA. Workers on a offshore drilling platform owned by Deep Water Horizon experienced a fiery blast about 10:00pm on Tuesday, according to the Coast Guard. At the time of the blast, DWH thinks there were 126 workers on the offshore drilling platform. With mixed reports coming in, most say that 11 are missing, but some reports state as many as 17 are missing. Workers that were able to escape the blast, were boated back to shore by a workboat that was in the area. Coast Guard is still perusing the immediate area around the platform looking for any signs of other life boats. Seven DWH workers were airlifted to hospitals in New Orleans, and at least 2 of those were moved to specialty burn units. If you or a family member were involved in this industrial accident, and you find that you need assistance of any kind, call Burwell Nebout today.
